Jeff A. Hussey was appointed Interim State Fire Marshal in May 2017. Prior to this appointment, Hussey served as Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal. As Interim State Fire Marshal, he is responsible for overseeing all operations and bureaus of the Marshal’s office.

Prior to his time with the Department of Commerce, Hussey was Chief of the Granville Township Fire Department, a position he held for 10 years. He began his career in the fire service in 1983 at the Mifflin Township Fire Department, where he rose through the ranks to eventually become an Assistant Chief. He also has served at the Westerville Fire Department and taught EMS and firefighting courses at Columbus State Community College for more than a decade.

Hussey received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Franklin University, has completed the Ohio Fire Chiefs Executive Fire Officer Leadership Program and is a nationally accredited Chief Fire Officer. He is also a certified firefighter II, paramedic, fire instructor and fire inspector.

Hussey lives in Granville Township with his wife Patty. They have four children; Ryan, Julie, Danny and Ellie.
